Angels Rest

While others are out there playing the popular game Pokemon Go and catching Pokemon, I’d much rather go out there and hike in nature. While it seems half the world is out catching Pikachu, I’m trying to catch photos of Pikas in the wild. (My only photo of one was blurry.) I’m chasing the view, the flora & the fauna in the great outdoors. Nothing is more glorious than hiking to a wonderful destination and finding that inner peace that comes from being far removed from your bustling, busy everyday lives. My most recent hike was to Angel’s Rest in the Columbia River Gorge.

On this hike, you will see two waterfalls. There’s a side trail to an overlook of  Coopey falls, with a bit of an overview from above. There is not a good way to get closer to this one, but, further up the trail, you will hear rushing water and see another side trail for Upper Coopey Falls, this one is just a short trail right up to the base of the falls. It’s worth the short detour to go see.

Last week I was finding magical things on the trail to the top. This week I’ll share more of the views, because, believe me – they were incredible.  A must-do hike in the Gorge!

Where I go, these are the street signs - go any direction you want, just don't follow one over a cliff.
