The Columbia River Gorge in a day

How much can you see in a day in the Gorge?┬áRecently, my aunt and uncle were visiting from California and we decided to take them on a day trip to the Columbia River Gorge. We managed to make quite a few stops while not staying long at any. I told my son later that we took the old folks tour of the Gorge. Stop, get out, look. Get back in the car and do it all again at the next stop. The furthest we went from the car was when my uncle and I headed up the path to the bridge by Multnomah Falls, a short hike, but the others didn’t feel up to it. They all stayed down at the lower viewing platform. We waved at them from the bridge.

All in all, we hit up quite a few spots for a short day trip. The Portland Women’s Forum view point, Crown Point, Latourell Falls, Multnomah Falls, Bonneville Dam and the Fish Hatchery. Also a drive by of Horsetail Falls without even getting out of the car because by then, my aunt’s asthma was acting up pretty bad. Then ending the day at Eastwind Drive-in with ice cream for all!
