There is no vacation better than a beach vacation. Tranquility washes over you as you explore the beach. There’s nothing like the fresh sea air, sand between your toes, and tiny treasures to be found along the way. The Oregon Coast is full of wonderful caves, rock formations and waterfalls and amazing view points. It’s a magical place to visit, but make sure you dress warm enough because it’s usually quite cool from the brisk ocean breezes.

Lighthouses are used to mark treacherous paths through the ocean. They can be seen as a warning in daylight, but the light shines brightest in the darkest hours of night. As an actress, I’m learning to be more like the lighthouse. To shine through the darkness. Sometimes we hide pieces of ourselves, not wanting those around us to see who we really are, but, like the lighthouse, if we let our light shine through the darkness, we can warn others of potential hazards so they can steer clear. When acting, this is 10 times more important because, in order to play a role, we have to let parts of ourselves out. Our pain, insecurities, brokenness & fears as well as the good things: our hopes, joys, dreams. It’s easier to let the good parts of ourselves out, but in order to really shine in acting, the bad has to come out, too. I strive to be more like the lighthouse in my acting. To shine brightly through the darkness, even when I feel like I have nothing to give, to give it anyway, becoming a beacon of light shining brightly for others to see.
In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must also be present. ~ Francis Bacon
