I mentioned going to the lavender fields last weekend, so this week I thought I’d share more photos from that trip this week.
We ended up going to Columbia View Lavender farm as it was the closest one open to the public. All the lavender farms participating in the lavender festival were far away and this one was open and nearby, so off we went.
I must say, you are hit with the scent of lavender the moment you step out of your car. It only gets stronger as you walk towards the lavender fields. And the sound of the bees buzzing grows louder as you walk closer. I chose to walk only on the big main aisles in the lavender because I didn’t want to get stung by all the busy bees out happily pollinating away in the lavender fields.
The scent of lavender isn’t my favorite scent in the whole world, but I like it okay. I prefer the scent of my lily of the valley when it’s blooming for only a couple of weeks in the late spring. But, be that as it may, I don’t mind the scent of lavender and I love the purple fields full of it. Wonderful for taking photos in and of the lavender.
Once you have gone to the lavender farm, just past it is the Portland Women’s Forum with a wonderful lookout over to Crown Point, so you may as well keep heading up the road to more adventures after you’ve gotten your fill of lavender fields. We certainly did!
