How to style spring florals differently

It’s that time of year again. The time where pastel florals are out in full swing everywhere. Some days you’re in the mood for them, others not so much. Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against all the pretty floral prints out there right now. I do like floral prints. But I love going against the flow. Doing my own thing. This look is all about florals done a bit differently.

I decided to throw on my black and white floral skirt with a dusty lilac tee with an applique floral pattern on it. Casual yet cute. I found these cute laser wedge sandals at Ross and threw them on with this. Gotta love a good Ross deal! Only $16.99 for these wedge sandals. I find it hard to shop at regular retail stores unless I’m shopping their clearance racks. Ross, Marshall’s and TJ Maxx are my go-to places for new clothes for less.

This does not, by any means, mean that I am not going to throw on some pretty pastel florals at any point this spring. I love florals. I may even have to find some of those gigantic floral print dresses, reminiscent of the 90’s that are coming back in again. But sometimes, you’ve gotta switch things up a bit. You do you, boo.

As always, thank you for stopping by.

Current trend I’m loving

Do you ever see a fashion trend you love right away while others may take some time to warm up to? Well this trend is one I’ve liked right from the get-go.

Burgundy pants, white button up shirt, black faux fur collar cardigan, black booties and cat eye sunglasses

I’m talking about racing stripes on the side of clothes. Mostly I like them on the sides of pants, but they could also be on the sleeves of a top or the sides of a dress as well. Super cute.

I found the pair I’m wearing in this photo at Old Navy. I had a $5 Verizon Up reward, searched through the clearance racks for something I liked in my size and found this for $10.50. So I got them for $5.50. Whoohoo! I love a good deal.

I paired my new pants with the racing stripe down the side with a white button up shirt, black wedge booties, a black faux fur cardigan, black leather jacket for extra warmth on a cold day plus a retro white purse and my cat ear Betsey Johnson sunglasses. (Still love these sunglasses the most out of all my sunglasses!)

What are some current trends you’re loving right now? And which ones are you still on the fence about? I’m still trying to decide how I feel about snakeskin print. I think that is one trend where a little bit goes a long way, and is kind of fun in unexpected colors. But definitely don’t wear it head to toe. Way. Too. Much. Snakeskin.
