Casual outfit idea for Valentine’s Day

I love Valentine’s day colors. Pinks, purples, reds, whites and creamy whites. I’m definitely a girly girl. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with not being one, either. I don’t have a lot of outfits with hearts all over them – although I can think of one top – I’ll have to make sure that gets into the rotation this next week. But I do have lots of red and pink sweaters and tops. And a few purple or white ones. Time to bring them all out this coming week!

Pink sweater, white coat, jeans & slouchy bow boots

Sweater is from Ann Taylor Loft – end of season a previous year. Off-white coat, Ross, jeans, given to me – old. Slouchy bow boots, Kohl’s end of season, purple sunglasses, old. Betsey Johnson bow bag, similar here.

Before the snow hit, we got some photos in this fun winter outfit, that is not only warm, but perfect for Valentine’s day. It would be pretty to get some more photos on a snow day, but the snow is already half melted and I didn’t have anyone who could help take photos for me yesterday when it was really pretty out. So I tromped around in the snow in my over-sized rain boots. (Used to be my kids, but they’ve outgrown them. Now I wear them in the snow since I don’t actually have a good pair of winter boots. I should ought to remedy that!)

I’ll have to post some of my photos on here from my snow day later, but for now, this outfit, though. I love bright pink. Such a fun color and bright colors are my friend. I love this coat, also worn hereI’m always afraid I’m going to get it dirty, though. Last time I wore it I got a glob of mascara on it. Luckily, it did come out! And slouchy boots are so in again. I’ve had these for a while, but it’s always nice to have styles come back in again! At least style you like.

I feel bad for the poor trees that were just starting to bloom before the cold blast came in. Luckily they weren’t in full bloom, so they can finish trying to bloom later on when the temps warm up for good. It just goes to show you, sometime you’ve just got to bloom when the timing is right. It may feel like ‘right now’ is the right time to bloom, but God knows what’s best and his timing is always perfect.

To all my peeps in the northern hemisphere – stay warm this week!

NYE and it’s time to shine

Are you all ready to start the new year out on the right foot? I certainly am. So, according to my cousin Paul, right before midnight on NYE, you should lift your left leg in the air so you can start out the new year on the right foot. I’m ready, are you?

This is a fun outfit. A bit sheer for Oregon winter weather, but fun all the same. Good thing we haven’t gotten a really bad cold snap yet or I would have been freezing. As it is, it’s been raining lightly every time we go out to take photos lately. Ick.

I think I may have actually sprinkled glitter wherever we went to photograph this because it was coming off of this outfit left and right as I was moving around. So when you are told to sprinkle glitter around like confetti, in this outfit, you actually can!

What could be more elegant than a black glitter jumpsuit for NYE? Dangle earrings plus a rose gold tassel necklace & metallic heels complete the look. Plus the cute little vintage beaded coin purse I found at Goodwill.

Too bad I’m not going anywhere for NYE. All dressed up with no place to go…
