Swingy leopard print top + thoughts on the new animal print for the season

Leopard print is always in. I feel like it’s a classic that never goes out of style. But even leopard print can come back in a whole new way. Like, for instance, this red pleated swingy animal print top from H&M. How fun is this? Sooo fun. Lightweight and breezy and super fun to twirl. Yes. If it is a good outfit to twirl in, I twirl. Even if it’s just a top that’s twirly and not a dress or skirt.

And if the music is good, we dance…

Other animal prints I’m loving and have my eyes on are: zebra print and Dalmatian print. I’m seeing them online when I’m browsing websites. I like them both and hope they both come in this season. Usually there’s only one animal print other than leopard that’s in at a time. I still don’t think tiger print is going to make it big just yet. I wrote about that, here.

Which one are you rooting for? Are you still riding the snakeskin wave from last winter, or are you ready for a new animal print to make a comeback? Maybe we should come up with a different one altogether. Like color changing lizard skin. Haha. I’m all for a color-changing fabric. Is that invented yet? If so, please send my way…

As always, thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

For the love of shoes!

I feel like I should dub this ‘The Year of the Shoe’. I have bought so many cute sandals this year, and a super cute pair of Sketchers athletic shoes. In my defense, a lot of my old ones are just falling apart. Plain and simple.

I had a couple pairs that were falling apart but were in really good shape otherwise, so I went out and bought some Shoe Goo. Yes. There is such a thing. You repair your shoes with it. I know. In today’s day and age, whoever thought of repairing something old rather than just chucking it out and getting something completely brand new? I did both. Repaired the old and bought the new. Super proud of myself for attempting to fix the old ones. Not sure how long the repair job will last, but what’s a little more time with a beloved shoe?

I won’t show pictures of all the old ones. (In fact, I didn’t take any of my ‘fix-it-upper’ shoes.)  The new ones were definitely worth showcasing.

Laser cut zip-up wedge sandals from Ross.

Supa fancy blinged up flip flop style sandals from Marshall’s.

Woven wedge sandals from Rue 21.

Comfy and cute embroidered floral memory foam Sketchers. Can be a great transitioning seasons shoe as well. Found on clearance at Ross.

Gold bling thongs sandals. Ross for the win again!

And technically, these are from the end of last summer. Crocheted wedge sandals found at Goodwill during one of those rare instances you walk by something you like, pick it up and it actually fits. I find this much harder to do at Goodwill and much easier to do at Marshall’s, Ross, or TJ Maxx.

Anyone else out there a shoe-aholic? Any great shoes you’ve found for a good deal lately?
