I got this cute little blue and white striped romper with tie sleeves for my birthday and am just now getting around to getting photos of it to post for you guys. After rear-ending someone in rush hour traffic a few weeks ago, I started having really bad back pain a week later and ended up in the Urgent Care after a couple of long days on set as an extra. Not sure if the super long days contributed to the intense back pain or not, but it was pretty bad after the second long day that week. I am now going to physical therapy to help mend up those achy muscles. Mostly I feel okay, but my back muscles are pretty tight from where the first knot formed in my shoulder down to my lower back where the pain ended up a week later. Bleh.
Needless to say, I was waiting for my back to feel well enough to put on my cute little wedge heels and romper and go take photos. We forgot to get photos of the cute shoes, so I may as well have worn flats – you all wouldn’t even have known, and I wouldn’t have been wobbling about practically twisting my ankle trying to walk on the rocks to the side of the path all for the sake of a photo! (But, that grass, though!)
I got the romper at Marshall’s, but you can find similar striped rompers and other items I wore below. If you click through I may receive a tiny commission barely worth mentioning per clicks and purchases. Thank you in advance for helping keep one light on in my home.
All photos were taken by Calvin Hodgson. You can find his work on Flickr and on his blog.
This jumpsuit is so cute! I ordered it in red and it is a wonderful color! The material is very lightweight, feels like chiffon, and did not wrinkle easily. I ironed it before wearing it to get out the creases it had from being folded up while shipped to me and was afraid to put it on or I’d sit down and get wrinkles all over it again. Nope. Once ironed it stayed relatively wrinkle free. The back has a keyhole slit and there is a button at the top. The loop the button goes into is stretchy elastic and easy to get the button in and out of. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone who wants a cute summer jumpsuit. *Although I did receive this item at a discounted rate to review it on Amazon, all opinions expressed are entirely my own and I was not asked to review it on my blog. I must say, though, this was the self-photo shoot from hell. I had a gut feeling I should bring along a pair of flip flops before leaving the house. But did I? Nope. And as soon as I got to my destination for the photo shoot and stepped out of the car, the top of my wedge heel started peeling off of the wedge. So I had to hobble along from one spot to the next with my shoe falling apart more with each step. (If you look at the 4th photo down, you can see where the top of the shoe has totally lifted from the wedge heel.)
Then, there were some prickly blackberry vines by the first tree I tried taking photos by. I got poked in the leg a couple of times, then one worked it’s way under my big toe. I tried to pick it out and it broke off on the outside, leaving the rest inside of my toe. So then I had to limp around with a pricker in my toe and my wedge heel coming undone.
I couldn’t get the camera to stay put on the tri-pod. After quite a bit of fiddling around with it I finally figured out which lever tightened the part the camera was attached to so I didn’t have a crooked camera and crooked photos. I was really wishing for Calvin’s help right about then and frustrated beyond all belief at that point. But, I had only a few more days to get my photos done and my review written up for Amazon, so the show had to go on! I did manage to get my photos done all by myself. Then I tried walking through the parking lot with my shoes off, but decided the bottom my feet just weren’t tough enough for that so put the heels on and did sort of a shuffle slide walk back to my car. And yet, if I didn’t tell you, would you even know I had a shoe falling apart, a pricker in my toe and got poked by prickers on the insides of my legs? No. Probably not. So I guess we can call that a successful photo shoot now that it’s over. But I thought I’d tell you the back story, just to keep it real!
