Hearts and stripes

You probably think stars and stripes go together. Specially considering it was just the 4th of July holiday. But, not today. Today we are doing hearts and stripes.

Striped top, given to me; heart belt, Dresslily; scruffed jeans, old; rose gold sunglasses, Ross; blue suede shoes, Ross; shell earring and necklace, handmade by my dad.

I just got this heart belt in the mail from Dresslily. It is now sold out, but they do have other belts with hearts on their website. So I figured, why not wear it for the 4th of July weekend?

This asymmetrical striped top is a go-to for cooler summer weather, a boat ride, or staying up late to watch the neighborhood fireworks. We like to joke that summer doesn’t start in Oregon until after the fourth of July.

A special thanks to my son for all the work done on my blog this weekend.

I hope you all had a happy and safe 4th of July weekend.

Nautical blue and white striped skater dress

I found some fun stuff on sale at H & M just over a week ago. I tried on a whole bunch of stuff and managed to leave with just two items. The summer sales are going strong right now, peeps. Sales and good deals are my jam, in case you haven’t figured that out yet.

This cute blue and white striped skater dress was one thing I decided to keep. It was only $3 people! Can you believe it??? I tried on a couple more skater dresses, but they were all really thin, threatening to be see through, so this one was the keeper.

A romper that was really cute once I got it on went to the side because it was so hard to put on. Then there was this super cute leopard print pleated tank top that was so fun and swingy I kept it even though it was only half off. Which was still less than $10, because this is H & M were talking about. They are all about affordable clothes in the first place, sale or no sale. More on the top next post. This dress and the fun top were the only things I kept from my try on session there. I could’ve taken photos of the rest of the stuff while there, but I didn’t so you’ll just have to know I kept the best stuff.

This fun leaf necklace was from Village Merchants, a fun consignment shop in Portland that my niece wanted to go to while they were passing through last weekend. I found more stuff there, too. But, I’ll fill you in on all that another time as well. I’m sure the clothing and jewelry will show up on here sooner rather than later.

The scarf in my hair was also from Village Merchants. The earrings were given to me and went with the nautical vibe of this outfit.
