Blossom print in a field of blossoms

Spring is coming. Yeah! (I say, after it was just snowing yesterday.) So is the Coronavirus. Boo. However, I found a wonderful field of flowers to jump in a couple of weeks ago. So I jumped. For joy. In the middle of my sorrow. It’s okay to find joy where you can when grieving. And that’s what I did. I see a field of flowers. I jump. I may have been crying a few days later and missing my mom, but it’s all good. I jump while I’m able to.

Blossom print bow tie top, Ross; purple corduroy leggings, Ross, gray fringed poncho cardigan, given to me; pink Kate Spade New York handbag, gifted to me, similar here; rose gold sunglasses, Marshall’s, Shoes hidden in the flowers, Kohl’s; fuchsia flower earrings, old.

This top is perfect for spring. Floral, peach and fuchsia with a bow at the top – what’s not to like? I found both the blouse and corduroy leggings at Ross, so you know I got them at a very good price. Since it’s still cold out, I had a gray fringed cardigan on as well. My bright pink Kate Spade New York handbag was another splash of color to an already bright outfit. Just right for an early spring day.

Everyone stay healthy and well out there. God help us all.

How to dress for the office in fall

I do a lot of background acting work when it’s available, and recently wore this office style dress on set. Which made me think that I should throw together some of the looks I wear on set for the blog. As an extra, you always bring your own clothes unless you need to be in costume, or have a certain period the show is set in. Even then, sometimes you’ll go to a fitting and have your clothes matched with stuff they have in wardrobe to pull the look off. A lot of times, they piece my stuff together in different ways than I ever would have thought of pairing things up. So it’s always fun to see what wardrobe comes up with for me out of my own clothes.

This look I wore as a business person for the set of Timmy Failure. I liked that this set wasn’t afraid of bold, bright colors. One day they had me in my fuchsia top from this blog post here, and fuchsia soft combed cotton jeans with a green and black long plaid top to break up the colors. I don’t think I ever would have thought to wear the fuchsia top and bottom and then break it up with another color over the top. Sometimes it helps to get a new perspective on how to wear the clothes you already own.

This particular dress I wore with a black blazer over the top and flat black patent leather penny loafers, in this post here. It’s always good to wear comfortable and quiet shoes on set. As it is, we were walking over a marble-like floor and someone’s shoes were clicking along every take. They checked my shoes out first, being the woman walking near the noise, to see if I was the one making the loud noise, but this wasn’t my first rodeo on set. Mine were quiet flat shoes and it was actually one of the guys with a block heel on his dress shoes making all the noise. And here they automatically assumed it was the woman making the click clacking noises while walking along. Ha!

Oddly enough, I’d never worn this dress before. It had been given to me by a friend a while back and I just never had anywhere to wear it. I wasn’t even sure I liked it until I wore it that day.

So, if you need a more business-y look in the fall, a nice color block slim fitting dress paired with a blazer is all you need. It has been nice and warm out lately, so I didn’t bring one with me for photos. For a warmer fall day, forget the  blazer and just wear the dress by itself.
