Coral pleats and crop tops

Crushing on pleated skirts and lacy puff sleeve crop tops this week. How fun! Both items were found at Ross, so you know they were a good price, too. Plus a bonus peek at how to style a silk scarf.

Polka dot ruched lace top, Ross; coral pleated skirt, Ross; pink scarf, old; colorful handbag, given to me, old; white flats, Ross.

This outfit is so much fun. The colors are bright and cheery despite the fact that we are now heading into our gloomiest time of the year. Bright colors are my jam! It also has a bit of a romantic feel with the long pleated skirt and lacy puff sleeve top.

I started out wearing the scarf around my shoulders, tied at the waist. There was still a bit of a chill in the air. Then I tied it around my waist. At some point I tried tying it around my bun, however, it is so long, that didn’t work as well as it would have with a shorter scarf. Eventually I decided to wear it like a normal scarf.

What are your favorite ways to wear a silk scarf?

Greensleeves

What could be more seasonal than a sweater dress with greensleeves like the Christmas song, otherwise known as What Child is This? Paired with my winter leggings, also worn here. Some would say the leggings are Christmasy, but with snowflakes instead of Santas or Christmas trees, I would say they are just wintery. Good to wear all winter long! Which is better in my book than leggings that are limited to wear only after Thanksgiving until the end of December.

Also, not sure why I’m channeling my inner Mary Poppins in these photos with my umbrella up in the air. (I haven’t seen the new movie yet, but hope to some day.) Mostly I was trying to keep the rain off my head while still allowing you to see the fun colorful trees at Fanno Farms U-cut tree lot.

I kept driving by this lot on my way to set this fall. The colorful trees painted while still growing in the ground really caught my eye. So fun! I wanted to come back and do a photo shoot before the holiday was over. So this is where I was unconsciously-(ish) heading on a rainy day a few days ago. I had it in the back of my mind but couldn’t remember the name of it, or how far down the road it was, so if it was half-way back to Scio, I wouldn’t have kept going forever just to find it. I think…

I’m loving the puff sleeve trend that is in right now. So cute. This sweater dress had just a bit of puff sleeves Not too poofy, though. Just a little bit.

I hope you all are almost ready for Christmas. Less than one week now!
