How to style paper bag waist jeans

So, you’ve finally decided to buy a pair of paperbag waist jeans or pants – now how do you wear them? Exactly what I was thinking when mine arrived in the mail… Here are two different ways to embrace the paperbag waist trend.

Lace polka dot puff sleeve ruched top, Ross; paperbag waist jeans, Shein; bow flats, also, Shein; Betsey Johnson bow bag, old, Marshall’s; heart sunglasses, Marshall’s.

Look 1: Wear them with a cropped top. Since the waist is pretty high and ruffled, a crop top is the easiest way to style paperbag waist jeans. I’m not big on the super short cropped tops, but this was a longer crop top and still worked well with the waistband of these pants.

Look 2:

Tuck your shirt in. Make sure you have a top long enough to tuck in, but maybe not toooo long or you’ll have a lot of tucking to do and possibly end up with a shirt line across your backside.

You could also try them with a tie front tee, a tucked in top with a blazer over top, or a button down top tucked into the waist.

Wear them with heels or flats, sneakers or booties.

Dressed up or dressed down.

They can be made work ready or weekend ready, or even date night ready.

Coral pleats and crop tops

Crushing on pleated skirts and lacy puff sleeve crop tops this week. How fun! Both items were found at Ross, so you know they were a good price, too. Plus a bonus peek at how to style a silk scarf.

Polka dot ruched lace top, Ross; coral pleated skirt, Ross; pink scarf, old; colorful handbag, given to me, old; white flats, Ross.

This outfit is so much fun. The colors are bright and cheery despite the fact that we are now heading into our gloomiest time of the year. Bright colors are my jam! It also has a bit of a romantic feel with the long pleated skirt and lacy puff sleeve top.

I started out wearing the scarf around my shoulders, tied at the waist. There was still a bit of a chill in the air. Then I tied it around my waist. At some point I tried tying it around my bun, however, it is so long, that didn’t work as well as it would have with a shorter scarf. Eventually I decided to wear it like a normal scarf.

What are your favorite ways to wear a silk scarf?
