How to fall into fall with earth tones

I don’t always like fall colors in clothing, but don’t mind earth tones. The colors I don’t like are usually the ones that start looking like a muddy version of the original color. I usually refer to these as baby poop yellow or baby puke orange. Or baby dukey green. Bleh. I do like olive green, though, and there is a difference between olive green and a more putrid version of the color. Ha.

Gold button up shirt, old; olive green suede leggings, TJ Maxx; colorblock purse, gifted to me; cat ear sunglasses, Betsey Johnson, old, Marshall’s; dusty rose bling tennis shoes, Ross.

The key is picking out colors that don’t look too much like something the cat dragged in. Here, I paired a light shimmery gold top with olive green faux suede pants and a brown puffer vest and added a few pops of color with the purse and dusty rose tennis shoes, complete with bling on the toes.

Mix in some fall leaves for extra fun! Whoohoo!

As always, thank you for stopping by and happy fall.

Going down in blaze of glory

What better way to look casually preppy or preppy casual than to wear a blazer and jeans. Amirite? It’s a casually cool and comfortable look.

Striped blazer, given to me; ruffled button up tee, given to me; ripped jeans, old; backpack purse, old; black cat eye sunglasses, Rue21; red floral necklace, Anne Taylor Loft; red chandelier earrings, old; sketchers, Ross.

A friend gave me a bag of clothes a month ago and since then discovered she has leukemia. Please send prayers!

Today I styled and photographed some outfits put together with things she gave me plus some of my own stuff.  (Just one featured today.)

Before fall is totally gone, I had to get in a bit of leaf throwing!

Yep. I’m a dork. And I’m okay with that. Then just like that, back to smooth jazz, real cool…

Thank you for stopping by, and happy leaf throwing!
