Coral pleats and crop tops

Crushing on pleated skirts and lacy puff sleeve crop tops this week. How fun! Both items were found at Ross, so you know they were a good price, too. Plus a bonus peek at how to style a silk scarf.

Polka dot ruched lace top, Ross; coral pleated skirt, Ross; pink scarf, old; colorful handbag, given to me, old; white flats, Ross.

This outfit is so much fun. The colors are bright and cheery despite the fact that we are now heading into our gloomiest time of the year. Bright colors are my jam! It also has a bit of a romantic feel with the long pleated skirt and lacy puff sleeve top.

I started out wearing the scarf around my shoulders, tied at the waist. There was still a bit of a chill in the air. Then I tied it around my waist. At some point I tried tying it around my bun, however, it is so long, that didn’t work as well as it would have with a shorter scarf. Eventually I decided to wear it like a normal scarf.

What are your favorite ways to wear a silk scarf?

Happy Hearts Day gifts for him

With Hearts Day just around the corner now, let’s not forget a gift guide for the guys. I always get stuck on gifts for guys, so I thought I’d give you some fun and somewhat romantic ideas for the guy in your life. Hold on to your hats. Are you ready for this one?

Happy Hearts Day gifts for him

This holiday always feels a bit silly when trying to find stuff for guys, because what guy really wants heart stuff for Valentine’s Day?  But I’ve found a good selection of stuff on Amazon that will make the perfect gift for any man.

I feel like this isn’t a holiday where you should be getting each other ipads and other tech gadgets. Unless you can somehow make it romantic. This holiday is all about love. So boxers and socks, handkerchiefs and ties with hearts on them are all great ideas.

A fun game you can play together, chocolates and bath fizzies (bath bombs) cologne and funny t-shirts about love are all good choices.

You can tie in accessories and red and white as well. And don’t forget romantic his and her mugs. There are some pretty funny ones out there.

Men probably don’t want flowers, but the exception may be a potted plant for their desk or office.
