How to wear hearts after Valentine’s day

Valentine’s day is over, but your love affair with hearts is not. What’s a girl to do? Never fear! This post will help you sneak hearts into your wardrobe all year round.

One way to wear hearts year round is to find a smaller more subtle heart pattern, like the chambray top I’m wearing below. From a distance, it looks like polka dots.

Another way to wear hearts is in your accessories. I have heart earrings and heart socks on as well. You could also wear necklaces, rings and bracelets with hearts or heart tights.

If you want to go big and bold, you could wear a top with a gigantic heart on it and layer a jacket or a blazer over it.

The same goes for a skirt or top. Wear a heart dress with a cute little cardigan. Or wear the skirt with a solid color top.

Those cute little sweaters with the heart patches on the elbow are also a good year round pick. Until it’s too warm to wear a sweater, that is.

And furthermore, why not wear a swimsuit with hearts in the summer with a cute cover-up?

Keep in mind, hearts aren’t  nearly as big of a no no after Valentine’s day as say, wearing Santa / Christmasey stuff is, so no worries if it’s after Valentine’s day and you still want to keep going with all the cute little heart clothing you own. Usually just toning it down a bit is enough to not look overly ‘Valentinesy’ after Valentine’s day.

Happy weekend everyone! Monday I start a new job as a medical assistant for a counseling office. I’ll be working with a couple of people I worked with at another counseling office. So excited to be working with them again! Wish me luck.

Casual outfit idea for Valentine’s Day

I love Valentine’s day colors. Pinks, purples, reds, whites and creamy whites. I’m definitely a girly girl. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with not being one, either. I don’t have a lot of outfits with hearts all over them – although I can think of one top – I’ll have to make sure that gets into the rotation this next week. But I do have lots of red and pink sweaters and tops. And a few purple or white ones. Time to bring them all out this coming week!

Pink sweater, white coat, jeans & slouchy bow boots

Sweater is from Ann Taylor Loft – end of season a previous year. Off-white coat, Ross, jeans, given to me – old. Slouchy bow boots, Kohl’s end of season, purple sunglasses, old. Betsey Johnson bow bag, similar here.

Before the snow hit, we got some photos in this fun winter outfit, that is not only warm, but perfect for Valentine’s day. It would be pretty to get some more photos on a snow day, but the snow is already half melted and I didn’t have anyone who could help take photos for me yesterday when it was really pretty out. So I tromped around in the snow in my over-sized rain boots. (Used to be my kids, but they’ve outgrown them. Now I wear them in the snow since I don’t actually have a good pair of winter boots. I should ought to remedy that!)

I’ll have to post some of my photos on here from my snow day later, but for now, this outfit, though. I love bright pink. Such a fun color and bright colors are my friend. I love this coat, also worn hereI’m always afraid I’m going to get it dirty, though. Last time I wore it I got a glob of mascara on it. Luckily, it did come out! And slouchy boots are so in again. I’ve had these for a while, but it’s always nice to have styles come back in again! At least style you like.

I feel bad for the poor trees that were just starting to bloom before the cold blast came in. Luckily they weren’t in full bloom, so they can finish trying to bloom later on when the temps warm up for good. It just goes to show you, sometime you’ve just got to bloom when the timing is right. It may feel like ‘right now’ is the right time to bloom, but God knows what’s best and his timing is always perfect.

To all my peeps in the northern hemisphere – stay warm this week!
