Happy St Patrick’s day, lovely people! I hope you’re all wearing green today so you don’t get pinched. I know I am. My poor cats however, have no green to wear. But I’m the only one here with them today so I think they’re safe from getting pinched by anyone. Ha!
This top is a lovely shade of jade green. Definitely enough green not to get pinched on St Patrick’s day.

Green top, jeans, denim jacket, gray combat boots, black cat eye sunglasses, Betsey Johnson handbag & tassel earrings
But why do we go around pinching people not wearing green on St Patrick’s day anyway? Seriously?
Apparently this tradition was started in America, not Ireland. It was said that wearing green made one invisible to leprechauns who would pinch everyone they could see – those not wearing green. Wearing green made you invisible to the leprechauns. People began pinching others that didn’t wear green to remind them that leprechauns could sneak up and pinch anyone not wearing green.
Okay. Whatever.
I totally remember trying to sneak green in where it wasn’t visible in elementary school. Like, “I have green on my underwear!” I believe in elementary school if someone pinched you for not wear green, you could punch them back. Hahaha. I was pretty shy growing up, so I really don’t remember actually punching anyone back, but I remember it was a thing. Ah. The dorkiness of being a kid.
I think we are finally pulling out of our cold spell here in Oregon, but last weekend when we took these photos, there were still bits of snow on the ground and it felt like winter out. This weekend we are finally warming up and it feels like spring is on the way. I hope I didn’t just jinx it by saying it. (If it snows tomorrow, it’s my fault for saying spring is finally coming.)
