What to wear for a fall day full of covered bridge tours

My son and I just got back from a couple of days touring covered bridges in Oregon. The weather had just turned cool and I was freezing at the beginning of day one, but by the end of the day I started acclimating to the cooler temps. After all, it was only in the mid to high 50’s. Could be worse, right?

Ripped denim jeans, old, given to me; Purple sweater, Kohl’s; Denim jacket, old; Brown puffer vest, old, gifted to me; Floral embroidered Sketchers tennis shoes, Ross; Heart aviator sunglasses, also from Ross.

So what does one wear for a cool fall trip in Oregon? I just started to layer up a bit – and was needing those layers.

I went casual with ripped jeans and a sweater. A denim jacket with a puffer jacket layered over the top. The puffer jacket is one of my favorites to layer over a lightweight jacket like a denim jacket in the fall.  Or wear just the puffer over whatever outfit I have on. It adds that perfect bit of ‘extra’ warmth to an outfit and keeps the cooler temps at bay.

Even though I thought I was freezing at first, it really wasn’t necessary to bundle up in scarves, gloves and super thick warm coats yet. Light layering got me through.

Happy Fall ya’ll!
